Hi
My name is Yair Shapira, and I am a theatre director and playwright.

I have written and directed plays for some of Israel's biggest stages, including Habima National Theatre, The Cameri Theatre, Haifa Theatre, Tmuna Theatre, Tsavta, Na Lagaat Theatre and others.

I am a graduate of the department for performance arts at Kibbutzim College’s, class of 2017. During my studies, I wrote and directed my first full-length play, “Wandering in a Bowl of Dust”.

Since then I have written and directed more than 10 productions, most of them my own original plays. I won the prize for best director at the 29th Haifa International Children’s Theater Festival for my play The Journey to Strange Island Of Lapapa,
In 2022 I was selected to participate in the Tel Aviv Municipality's "Future of the Theater" program , and through all that I managed to keep my sanity (or so I think...).
